The first step is to get the ENUM to resolve in the DNS. Safenames provides 2 DNS servers with each registration: ns1.enums.co.uk and ns2.enums.co.uk. If you ordered from us, then likely we have automatically setup a zone for you with some sample NAPTR that you can just edit. To see the default records, login to the management portal at https://secure.enums.co.uk Navigate from the top level menu My IDP -> ENUM Configuration, click on Edit NAPTR records, from the drop down list, select the ENUM you wish to edit, and click 'Get Zone Record'.
If you're running your own DNS servers, here is an example of how the zone should look in bind9 based on our telephone number of +441908200022. No special hardware or additional software is required to host ENUM domains on bind9, but the format of the NAPTR can be daunting. I will explain these records in greater detail later.
